World & Community is a Little Ones University faculty for birth to five. It helps children make sense of family, home, neighborhood, routes, maps, community roles, places, stories, languages, and belonging.
Begin with the child's real world. Name familiar people and places, take neighborhood walks, notice landmarks, talk about where you are going, draw simple routes, and invite family stories.
Kala approaches culture and community with respect for each family's lived experience and avoids reducing people or places to stereotypes.
