About Kala Early Learning Library

We exist for one reason.

The first five years of a child's life shape everything that follows — language, emotional intelligence, curiosity, resilience, and the neural foundations that determine how a brain grows for decades.

Most of what parents receive during those years is noise. Social media contradictions. Anecdotes dressed up as advice. Products designed to look educational without being grounded in anything real.

Kala Early Learning Library was built to be different.

What we make

We create three kinds of resources, all built on the same foundation: developmental science, research-informed design, and deep respect for parents and children alike.

Parent guides — practical, research-backed answers for the moments that catch you off guard. Sleep, speech, behavior, neurodivergence, feeding, and health. Written for real parents, not researchers.

Early learning books — real-photo books for babies and toddlers that actually teach, using the same sequencing strategies that speech pathologists, child development researchers, and early educators use. Not cartoons with labels. Systems with intent.

Books by Kala Montena — adult nonfiction exploring the forces reshaping how we work, think, connect, and raise children in a world that changes faster than any previous generation has experienced.

Who we are

Kala Early Learning Library is the work of Kala Montena — author, creator, and founder of EmpowerPath. Our children's catalog carries characters like Lumi — a curious, warm guide for young learners — and a growing series of books and tools designed to give children and parents a shared language for the world.

Every product we create is built around a single question: Does this actually help?

Our promise

We will never publish something because it looks good. We will only build what works, what informs, and what a parent can use tonight.

The first five years matter. We take that seriously.
