A child who is both can look, on different days, either like too much or not enough, when really they are simply taking in more and feeling more than most.

- Name what you notice without treating it as a problem, such as saying you really noticed that sound, your ears pick up a lot
- Build in recovery time after high stimulation events like parties or crowded stores, rather than expecting an immediate reset
- Follow their specific interest deeper instead of redirecting them toward something more age typical
- Loop in a pediatrician or child psychologist if intensity is affecting daily life, not to get a label, but to get support that actually fits
